Q:
I have heard of a book that teaches baby
sign. Is this a good idea or will it further delay talking
as a child learns to communicate without talking? |
| |
A:
The book Baby Signs is excellent
because it makes the point that communication begins with body
language, not just verbal language. It certainly will not delay
talking. If anything, it should accelerate it because baby learns
the joy of communication. By learning to read baby's body
language, you are able to communicate with your baby long before
he or she becomes verbal.
